Trompe-LOeil Top Knot Braid

As party season fast approaches we’re showing you how to work your summer festival braid into the perfect Party Pin Up look.  Worn with that Little Black Dress that hugs you in all the right places, or a daring top with your toned midriff on show, this trompe-l’oeil top knot braid is just like a good martini – strong, classic, clean with just enough of a twist to leave you wanting more!

Grab your Kerastase Materialiste and Laque Noir, and make sure you have some kirby grips, a small bobble and a good hairbrush to hand.

• Start from just-washed hair and spray Matérialiste into hands, distribute evenly throughout your wet hair.
• Blow-dry.
• Section your hair from the top of the right ear, up to crown, and down to top of the left ear, secure this part in a bun.
• Unclip top section and brush sides up with fingers to conceal side partings. Secure all of the hair (including braid) into a high ponytail.
• With the remaining hair, do a reverse French braid starting at the nape, up to the bun and secure with a small elastic bobble.
• Wrap ponytail into a loose bun (to hide the braid) and secure with kirby grips.
• Spray with a light veil of Laque Noire.
